Our 10 Commitments for a More Responsible Stay
At MJ Holidays, every detail counts. To preserve what Mauritius has most beautiful, we have implemented 10 concrete commitments, applied daily in our resorts. Simple, sustainable choices that don’t compromise your comfort or freedom!
- The hot water in our villas is heated using solar panels.
- All our lighting points use low-consumption LED bulbs.
- Air conditioning automatically switches off when the key card is removed.
- Our villas are designed to promote natural ventilation and reduce the need for artificial lighting or air conditioning.
- The swimming pools use a salt chlorination system, reducing chemical usage.
- Wastewater is recycled through a treatment plant to irrigate our gardens.
- Our technical vehicles are 100% electric: silent and non-polluting.
- We limit single-use plastic by favoring glass containers.
- Drinking water is filtered on-site and provided in villas, avoiding plastic bottles.
- Bicycles are available for your short-distance travel.

Building Bonds with Those Who Bring the Island to Life
A massage by Swastee in a quiet verandah, a cari cooked by Daniella’s hands, a moment around a fire with Rosemond. At MJ Holidays, experiences are rooted in real life, in the stories of those who live here.
In our resorts, we support independent local partners: artisans, producers, cooks, wellness practitioners… Not because it’s trendy, but because it’s the right thing to do. They are part of our daily life, culture, and identity.

Acting for Our Community, Day After Day
Our commitment goes beyond the walls of our resorts. It lives in the surrounding villages, every week, with every returned smile.
We support associations like Caritas and Protez Nou Lagon, deliver meals every Thursday in Grand Gaube and Rivière Noire, and participate in community events.
But there’s more: we have financed jerseys for the local football team, donated school supplies to village children, and organized trainings to create vocations. Some of these trainings turned into permanent jobs, and one trainee was even named "Best Employee 2023."
